Red wines

The Burgenland has gained a certain reputation for its red wines. To come up with this reputation, we have put special efforts on growing and maturing our red wines. We are aiming for reflecting the fruity aromas of the ripe grapes in our wines. This means, that we hand-pick only the best grapes, we ferment the wines very carefully and that we select the right bins for our wines.
At the Stölzerhof we offer two type of red wines. There is the “classic-traditional” reds, which are matured in big oak barrels. Those fruity, easy drinking wines are launched quite young after one year of maturation.
The other type of red wines are the heavy, full bodied ones. Those wines have been matured in small oak casks for more than 18 month. Selected barrels are blended then for our Hauscuvee, Gatto Nero or X (Cross)

Wine lovers all over the world enjoy our red wines – and so do wine testers. The Austrian Fallstaff-Magazine rates our reds among the best of Austria.
